Amicalola Deer Park

Amicalola Deer Park is more than a place to enjoy the beautiful deer, much more! It's a place of great fun for everyone.

You can take a hike with friends, skip a stone in the river, or enjoy family friendly, primitive camping.

Amicalola Deer Park is the perfect place for a field trip, group picnic, youth event or a quiet weekend enjoying nature with family and friends...

Today, your support enables us to provide animal rescue and care services to animals in need on a 1,200 acre preserve in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains, just a few minutes West of Amicalola Falls on GA HYW 53.

In addition, we reach out with our beautiful animals to our local community to those in need, such as sick children, troubled youth and the elderly. We take our animals to places like Children's hospitals and nursing homes where people come face-to-face with God's creation and experience the healing power that a smile can create.

Amicalola Falls State Park
Visit the beautiful 729 foot waterfall and enjoy great hiking, breakfast, lunch or dinner at the lodge, acquire souvenirs at the gift shop and view the splendid beauty of over 77,000 acres of mountain preserve. For true adventurers, hike in 5 miles and stay overnight at the ecologically friendly and primitive Hike Inn.

Fort Mountain State Park
Fort Mountain derives its name from an ancient 855-foot-long rock wall thought to have been built by Indians for protection and for ancient ceremonies. Situated in the Chattahoochee National Forest close to the Cohutta Wilderness area, this park offers a variety of outdoor activities. Hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders will find some of the most beautiful trails in northern Georgia. Most wind through hardwood forest and blueberry thickets, occasionally crossing streams and providing spectacular vistas. During the summer, children will enjoy the sand beach located on a clear mountain lake, as well as miniature golf and pedal boat rental.
